dotSource GmbH celebrates its 10th anniversary this month. By now, the Jena digital agency ranks among the most successful companies in the industry. dotSource closed the financial year 2015 with a total annual turnover of approximately 6 million euro and recorded a sales increase of 20 percent compared to last year.
»In ten years of dotSource, we have constantly tried out new things and contributed to setting trends. This is what makes us stand out«, dotSource CEO Christian Grötsch explains. Owner-run since its foundation in 2006, dotSource belongs to the fastest growing e-commerce agencies in Germany. The original vision »concepts and consulting for ebusiness« was succeeded by the entry into the agency business in 2008, initially with the focus on »social commerce«. Three years later dotSource positioned as »e-commerce agency« and in 2014 the agency finally found a vision that will also point the way in the coming years: »Digital Success right from the Start«. Consistent with this vision, in 2016 dotSource will continue to offer comprehensive expertise and excellence across all aspects of the digitalisation of marketing and sales.
Last year dotSource recorded numerous successes. In February 2015 the agency was able to win the largest single contract in its ten year history with the pitch for the project for Messe Düsseldorf After Preisbock.de in 2009, Lensbest.de was the second online shop realised by dotSource to win the Shop Usability Award in August 2015. dotSource was able to acquire 20 new customers in 2015, among them being well-known companies such as Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG from Hamburg and Bruno Bader GmbH + Co. KG from Pforzheim. The agency realised successful projects, for example for the mail-order pharmacy Mycare.de, for the music retailer Music Store Professional GmbH from Cologne, and for hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG from Soltau, the largest company in its sector.
As a certified partner of Adobe and Google and, since January 2015, also as hybris Gold Parter, dotSource is able to master its customers’ growing challenges.
»Our society is in the midst of digitalisation. The speed of transformation processes and the ease with which users encounter new technologies and applications pose a challenge to many companies. We want to support retailers and manufacturers in understanding the digital transformation as an opportunity and aim at paving their way into the digital future of marketing and sales«, Grötsch explains.
For a long time dotSource has been sharing its industry expertise and long-term digital experience at events, such as the e-commerce breakfast series, in whitepapers, through the e-commerce blog handelskraft.com, and, since 2015, at the Digital Business School. The professional development project in cooperation with the Steinbeis Technology Group offers the certification course »E-Commerce Management« as well as »Executive Trainings«, individual workshops for decision-makers and executives.
With the opening of the new location in Berlin the agency reacted to the needs of its clients in Berlin and the surrounding areas as well as to the rising staff numbers at its main office. Even with respect to staffing all signs pointed to growth in 2015.
Among the agency’s highlights in 2016 are the release of the new trendbook »Day One in Digital Life«, the Handelskraft Conference on the 18th February 2016 in Berlin, and the e-commerce breakfast series 2016.
