dotSource paves hagebaus way into the digital future of marketing and sales

hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG directs its business strategy towards digitalisation. In this, the company is substantially supported by dotSource GmbH from Jena. With the implementation of its e-commerce concept hagebau takes up a crucial leading role in the B2B sector.

 

hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG was founded in 1964 and is a cooperation that is today based on more than 360 legally independent medium-sized companies from the specialist trade and retail sector.

hagebau and 30 associated companies had been working on a B2B e-commerce concept for about two years. The main challenge was to establish a consistent technical basis that is able to transfer the complex structures of the single associated companies to the digital environment of B2B commerce – in an efficient, flexible, and future-oriented way.

dotSource was able to realise this objective by means of a multi-client platform on the basis of the hybris Commerce Suite 5. The platform enables hagebau to integrate further B2B online shops of their associated companies with minimal effort. The group’s single specialist retail companies are therefore able to drive more traffic to their online presences, to organise their business processes more efficiently and, consequently, to set themselves apart from the competition and to increase their revenues.

dotSource also extended the product content management system. Now the smart catalogue management facilitates a smooth synchronisation of product data. With the new B2B online shop hagebau offers its associated companies the opportunity to access this product data centrally.

This implies a reduction of complexity for the single specialist retailers. Furthermore, processes can be handled faster because transactions require altogether less time. Since customers are thus informed better and more quickly and can easily do their shopping online, this is a distinct competitive advantage for all associated companies.

The first pilot B2B online shop of the associated company Wertheimer went successfully live in 2015. Starting with Raiffeisen, 30  more shops will follow in 2016/17.

At the SAP hybris Summit 2016 hagebau was awarded second place for “Gloabl Success Story of the Year”.
