Operation, Maintenance and Support of 3M's Multi-Client Platform
Initial Situation & Objectives
3M operates a platform that sells intraoral scanners to professionals. Via this platform, dentists, orthodontists and facial surgeons can purchase licences for the innovative products, rent the intraoral scanners and thus handle all related services so that they can capture the anatomy of their patients with high precision and ensure the best possible dental care.
The cooperation between dotSource and 3M already started in 2014 when 3M approached dotSource in search of an ideal partner for the operation, maintenance and support of its international B2B multi-client platform for Europe.
Challenges & Procedure
Behind 3M’s B2B multi-client platform for dental technology, a complex system landscape can be found, consisting of a Magento e-commerce system and an SAP enterprise resource planning tool (ERP). In terms of payment services, 3M works together with CyberSource.
dotSource ensures that the technical operation of the e-commerce solution runs smoothly. Besides the operation, maintenance and support of the closed B2B multi-client platform that is only accessible to dental practices, dotSource also supports 3M with digital consulting.
Success & Added Values
With dotSource, 3M has had an extremely reliable partner for the international B2B multi-client platform (3M™ True Definition intraoral scanner platform) at its side for half a decade now.
Furthermore, 3M benefits from the expertise of an experienced digital agency in the field of consulting because Magento Open Source in particular has considerably changed as a provider recently: in June 2018, the company was acquired by the US software giant Adobe.
