Initial Situation

Since it was founded in 1990, Analytik Jena has not only grown in terms of employees, customers and projects, but also in terms of complex structures and processes within its IT system landscape. As a result of this growth, the individual software solutions did not harmonise well with each other, which in turn made it more difficult to maintain the data and, in some cases, prevented its appropriate and efficient use.

In order to create a future-proof, solid IT infrastructure on this basis, Analytik Jena decided to implement and use a PIM and MDM system. This was intended to allow for the enrichment and processing of high-quality data in the future and to make it available across the entire company.

Objectives & Services

The goal of the analytical measuring technology manufacturer was to eliminate the long-standing separation of product data and corresponding assets in order to allow for their parallel use on all digital channels. The solution was to build a single source of truth for the entire company and to integrate a complex model for digital assets (in the form of images, videos, text fragments, etc.).

Therefore, the concrete objectives were:

• the implementation of a PIM & MDM system and its connection to the existing system landscape to ensure data availability across the entire company
• the implementation of a complex digital asset management solution

By implementing the PIM & MDM system »STEP« from Stibo Systems, Analytik Jena benefits from numerous added values. For example, the entire company can now access the current product data base at its single source of truth. Further advantages are:
