MUSIC STORE is one of the ten largest music retailers worldwide. The online shop Musicstore.de, which is available in 30 countries and 10 languages, offers more than 50,000 products.
During the relaunch project for Musicstore.de, dotSource supported the Cologne music retailer in pursuing the successful implementation of their cross-channel strategy. The migration to the Intershop Commerce Suite ensured the online shop’s high performance on all channels and facilitated a technically advanced connection of online and offline sale.
»Musicstore.de has turned into a visually and functionally attractive platform that offers our customers more than the simple sale of instruments and accessories: a shopping experience that rocks«, says Michael Sauer, CEO of Music Storeprofessional GmbH.
The combination of content and commerce constitutes an exceptional USP for Music Store. In order to provide more space for product and background information, dotSource developed a special editor that enables a magazine-like presentation of content in the front-end. This does not only have a positive impact on the shopping experience. Music Store’s aim to expand the advisory approach within their online business is also taken into account.
The specialist retailer places value on supporting customers at the best possible rate also during the purchase decision process. dotSource developed a FACT-Finder module that allows for this. With the new module all information gathered during the customer journey can be analysed and used to offer customers personalised recommendations based on their individual behaviour.
Linking online and offline sale plays an important role for Music Store. In order to avoid warehousing discrepancies during parallel orders in the store and in the online shop, dotSource developed a new interface to the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics Nav (formerly Navision) which allows the matching of inventory data every 5 minutes. Customers can also track the present status of their order processing at any time.
»Musicstore.de sets new standards: responsive design, an exceptionally fascinating presentation the product offer as well as numerous attractive features provide the best conditions for Music Store to seize the opportunities of digitalisation successfully«, says Christian Grötsch, CEO of dotSource.
