PRECITOOL is a joint venture of various strong national and international partners and dealers in the field of tool logistics and tool procurement, which are connected by a modern logistics and service centre.

Project Successes

Modern E-Commerce Solution with commercetools

As a solution for a modern and central e-commerce platform for the joint venture, PRECITOOL opted for a multi-client platform based on the e-commerce software commercetools. By developing a special system architecture based on over 100 microservices, processes can run differently in each shop without having to change the basic architecture.

Migration to the Microsoft Azure Cloud

To be able to manage the multitude of microservices applications, they were migrated to the Microsoft Azure public cloud. The fact that managed and maintenance services are also provided by Microsoft Azure proved to be beneficial in this regard. By migrating the data to the cloud, PRECITOOL was able to reduce effort and costs.

Benefits Through »Infrastructure as Code«

Using Microsoft Azure as a cloud service offers the benefit of »infrastructure as code« (IaC). Code is automatically documented, managed and made available in the cloud. This makes it possible to predefine scripts; subsequently, they only need to be adapted to the project at hand, which shortens the time to market.
