Netto Digital is the e-commerce division of Netto Markendiscount AG & Co. KG. Netto operates more than 4,200 stores throughout Germany and is also successful in e-commerce with its own online platform netto-online.de where it offers a wide range of products.
Besides groceries, customers can find drugstore products and furniture, technology and multimedia products, garden supplies, children’s and pet products, DIY, sports and leisure products as well as holiday and travel offers, photos, wines and flowers. From time to time, Netto also offers its customers exclusive offers such as green electricity contracts.
Netto Digital and dotSource have been working together for many years. The e-commerce platform was successfully modernised and migrated. This allowed Netto to get off to a successful start in cross-channel commerce and reach its customers at all touchpoints.
Accordingly, the dotSource digital success team had to help Netto to make the excellent range of products more visible online and to increase the shop’s reach. For this purpose, a modern SEO and a modern tracking concept were developed and implemented.
After a professional audit, joint consulting meetings followed in order to plan measures to achieve increased visibility and reach as concretely and target-group-specifically as possible.
A concept was developed that covers the fields of technical SEO, content SEO and off-page SEO. In terms of content SEO, dotSource also took on project management tasks and an employee of the digital agency acted as POA (Product Owner Assistance).
Moreover, the tracking concept was developed together and implemented by dotSource using the above-mentioned Google tools and in close cooperation with the responsible e-commerce development team. In order to check the effectiveness of measures taken, regular crawling cycles and further check-ups took place.
dotSource also took care of the monitoring and the complete documentation of results.
The last step was to train Netto employees in using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager as well as the dashboards in Google Data Studio and to provide them with ongoing support.

Furthermore, the fact that Netto’s cross-channel commerce is not only cutting-edge but also trendsetting, has been awarded several times in the last few years – the platform was awarded the »Top Shop 2019« award presented by COMPUTER BILD and the »German Brand Award« for excellent brand communication in June 2020.
Thanks to dotSource, we were not only able to restore the visibility of our e-commerce platform after the relaunch, but even to increase it significantly. We now feel very well positioned in terms of web analytics and will continue to develop our range of products and scale our business model together with our long-standing digitisation partner dotSource.
