About Messe Düsseldorf
Messe Düsseldorf ranks fifth in a global comparison of the world's largest trade fair companies. With 50 trade fairs, with 24 of them having the highest ranking in their industry, the company may call itself international market leader for investment goods fairs and stands out in this area by a high number of international exhibitors and trade fair visitors.
When it comes to planning and organising trade fairs and their stands, Messe Düsseldorf places a great deal of importance on a high level of service. In addition to stands, the company offers a broad portfolio of other services that exhibitors can use to prepare and carry out their trade fair appearances. Products and services from Messe Düsseldorf are also complemented by additional services provided by external service partners.
Example: Online Order System of EuroCIS

Integrated Solution for a Wide Range of Services and a High Degree of Automation
Messe Düsseldorf has been using an online order system (OOS) for more than 15 years and offers services for the organisation of trade fair appearances via other platforms - including the stand construction configurator, online registration and the easy-to-use administration tool. However, in terms of technical flexibility and user experience, the platform landscape has several vulnerabilities.
Together with dotSource, Messe Düsseldorf wants to replace the previous system with the goal to create a central point of contact, which exhibitor teams, stand builders and commissioned agencies can use to individually compile, book and manage their complete package for a smooth trade fair appearance.
- Development of a multi-client marketplace based on the SAP Hybris Commerce Suite
- Integration of interfaces to the existing SAP ERP solution as well as to the systems of two media partners
- Connection of the trade fair websites and the ticket shop
- Implementation of a modern responsive design with three viewports
- Set-up of a service and consulting portal
- Automation of ordering processes as well as internal and external workflows
Thanks to the marketplace structure of the new OOS, the approximately 30 Messe Düsseldorf service partners can offer their services autonomously in the online shop as well as independently manage their product ranges and incoming orders. With the stand registration, exhibitors get access to all relevant additional services - from stand walls to advertising measures.
The high degree of automation and the product pages simplify the maintenance and updating of the platform for Messe Düsseldorf employees. The linked platform landscape, the modern look and intuitive usability of the platform as well as the provision of demand-focused information ensure increased ease of use and thus an even higher level of service – from stand registration to trade fair follow-up.
